Description: Join us this Black History Month to serve in honor of those who have pioneered the pathway toward unity and peace. We will collaborate with Foster Love, the largest foster care organization in the U.S. to assemble Foster Care Kits. This service project involves assembling these kits, which include duffle bags with care items and hygiene kits for children entering foster care. Many youths entering foster care only have a few minutes to pack a trash bag before entering their new “home.” These kits not only provide essential items but also offer a sense of dignity and comfort during challenging times. 

Volunteer tasks will include unboxing kit materials, assembling items, filling care packages, and participating in clean-up/tear-down activities. After the kits are completed, Foster Love will work with us to ensure that the kits are sent to local agencies in the area that are in need.

Additionally, the event will include holistic wellness activities from 2-4pm that focus on family building, creating safe spaces for youth, mindfulness, and providing resources that tackle the growing needs of the community.
